It makes me sad because I think it is true. Why is this country unable to enact legislation to solve our problems. A very rhetorical question. Money is the reason. That is what I believe and it saddens me terribly. It always spoke too loudly, but never as much as now.
America Is A Gun
England is a cup of tea.
France, a wheel of ripened brie.
Greece, a short, squat olive tree.
America is a gun.
Brazil is football on the sand.
Argentina, Maradona’s hand.
Germany, an oompah band.
America is a gun.
Holland is a wooden shoe.
Hungary, a goulash stew.
Australia, a kangaroo.
America is a gun.
Japan is a thermal spring.
Scotland is a highland fling.
Oh, better to be anything
than America as a gun.

Two mass shootings in two days. Children murdered by white supremacist gunmen…Very often the shooters seems to be too young themselves and unable to do any critical thinking. I blame our current culture more than I blame those who have always been lied to and inflamed. I am in tears.
Fear, power, control and money all figure into our love affair with guns. Many people are too easy to manipulate and enrage. I don’t want to say that I’ve lost all hope for positive change, but it would be fairly true from what I’ve seen/heard happening lately. And we can bet 100% that it will keep happening, over, and over, and over again.
I do not want to give up hope. People need to see what is happening and then vote. And I need to keep on hoping.
We are down to no recourse save the ballot box. Every Election.
Amen. We always voted in every election and took our kids with us. And now they all vote too, and take their kids along too.
It is probably impossible to put that genie back in the bottle, but that doesn’t mean that the government shouldn’t try its darndest.
It should try, but nothing is being done now.
So sorry.
Thank you, Jill! I am sorry, too.
I too am more than sorry.
I’ve simply no words, so I’ve stolen Brian Bilston’s for my blog – with a link to your blog.
